Recorded from our car 15-20 after the fire raged through our friends ranches in Acton, CA. The properties are totally devastated except for their 2 houses, which are made out of stone. All animals were evacuated to another property in the area. Ted and I arrived right after the blaze. If we had driven up this same road 15-20 minutes earlier, they told us we would have died. The owners, Hayden and Scott, almost died. They and about a half dozen firefighters got trapped on the property and had to take cover in one of the stone houses. They all crouched down on the floor and Scott said it was a fire tornado of complete red when you looked out the windows of the house, which lasted for 10-15 minutes straight! Luckily, they had double pane windows on the house, which is probably what saved their lives by keeping the fire out. WE ARE CURRENTLY ORGANIZING A BENEFIT FOR THESE 2 RANCHES. Any labor to help would be great. Scott's Jeep melted in the 2500 degree heat so he needs the donation of a car or truck. Their storage sheds, except for one, burned down so they need materials to rebuild them or donation of existing sheds.
